Yael is a lecturer at AUT, and a poet, living in West Auckland. Her academic interests are interdisciplinary and move between education, philosophy and comparative literature, often engaging in creative inquiry. In more recent publications Yael engages in speculative fiction/fabulation with particular focus on the interplay of sacred and contemporary literatures in philosophies of life and learning. She is the author of Jouissance: A Cixousian encounter with the Song of Songs (Sheffield Phoenix, 2015). Her writing on Helene Cixous, Jacques Derrida and Biblical Literature spans many years.
