Gender in Rabbinic Literature

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Believe it or not, the Talmud indicates six possible genders identified by the ancient rabbis as present among the people Israel. In this session we will explore six categories of gender identification in relationship to current discourse around non-binary or non-genderconforming, trans, and intersex identifications. Finally we will read a heartfelt letter from one of “the Rabbis” about his own internal conversation related to the space between his biological gender and how he experiences himself.

Please note that Johanna's session runs from 2:58:35 through to 3:51:37.
