Archives of Exile

This session will explore the "archive of exile", the international context of dispersed Jewish collections, and examine the journeys of German-Jewish exilic objects to Aotearoa New Zealand. It will also consider how in the absence of such artefacts, Europe's Jewish museums use their collections and spaces to convey historical meaning to museum audiences.
